Northwest Local School District’s Technology Mission

The Northwest Local School District technology mission is to provide, support, and implement current, relevant, and diverse technologies that empower our students, staff and community to broaden their world as lifelong learners.

Northwest Local School District’s Technology Vision

Students graduating from the Northwest Local School District will understand and appreciate the role of technology in their educational and personal lives and will be able to apply this knowledge in their future endeavors. Students will be provided with tools that strengthen curricular objectives and support the learning process. Critical and creative thinking skills will be supported through technological means. The Northwest Local School District views technology as an important tool that will support the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) legislation. Staff members will promote interest in academic learning through technology as well as interest in all technologies. The district will provide technical career preparation for the world of work and collegiate experiences. Technology is viewed as a means of communication necessary within the school, the district, and the world.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) - Grades 6-12

Northwest Local School District is pleased to announce that students may bring their personal devices to school for instructional use during the school day. The purpose of the District’s BYOD program is to extend and enrich the learning environment. Students will be given the opportunity to do so on a room-by-room and day-by-day basis. The use of technology to provide educational material is not an entitlement, but a privilege provided by teachers and administrators under their directives. For more information on common questions and recommendations, see the resources page.
