Dear Northwest Local School District Staff, Students and Community Members,

It is with great sadness that we mourn the death of one of our beloved Monfort Heights Elementary School teachers, Ms. Jackie Skukan. At this time, there are no specific details regarding the cause of death available. There is an ongoing police investigation as to the circumstances surrounding Jackie’s death.

Jackie Skukan was a dedicated staff member of the Northwest Local School District since 2002. She began her career teaching physical education at Welch and Struble Elementary Schools. She spent one year teaching the students at Taylor Elementary School and served as the Director of Intramurals at Welch and Taylor Elementary Schools. She was a committed and loving physical education teacher at Monfort Heights Elementary School for the past two years.

Jackie touched the lives of many students and colleagues at Northwest. She will be greatly missed. While we spend some time grieving her death, please remember to celebrate her life and carry on in her tradition of caring for each and every person – young and old. She will live on through the lives she has touched.
