Curriculum Night - Thursday 2/21 (5:30 - 7:00)

In an effort to provide information regarding the upcoming scheduling process for the 2019-2020 school year, Colerain High School will be hosting a Curriculum Night on Thursday February 21st. This program will be held in conjunction with Parent/Teacher Conference night. Parents will have time to meet with teachers and gain insight into programs being offered next school year.

Our hope for the evening will be to address the following items:

  1. An opportunity to hear about what courses CHS will offer for the 2019-2020 school year.

  2. What are the expectations for coursework on all academic levels; AP, CCP, Honors, Advanced?

  3. You will also have an opportunity to view examples of actual student work and hear directly from teachers about what your student’s academic experience will be like in their classrooms.

  4. Administrators, counselors and teachers will all be on hand to answer questions about options for students.

The agenda for the evening is as follows:

  • Guidance Presentation

  • 2 sessions 5:30 and 6:15   (same session offered twice)

    • Topics Covered

    • Timeline of Scheduling

    • Recommendations

    • Review of Course Guide

    • Pathways to College and Career Goals

    • Naviance

    • College Prep Level Courses

    • Honors Level courses

    • AP vs.CCP

    • Breakout Sessions 6:15-7

    • In classrooms with teacher of your choice

      • These sessions are designed to allow parents time to ask teacher questions. Examples might include:

        • What summer work is required for the AP/Honors class?

        • What types of projects will be required?

        • How does this course prepare my student for college?
