NWHS and CHS DECA Participants

On Thursday, February 9, 2017, over 300 area high school students competed in the DECA District 5 Competition which was held at Miami University, Hamilton.  Schools competing were Northwest High School, Colerain High School, Ross High School, Badin High School, and North College Hill High School.  24 students from Northwest Local School District took part in this competition – 10 students from Northwest High School and 14 students from Colerain High School.

Congratulations are in order for three Northwest High School students as state qualifiers.  They are Senior Aubrey Berry, Freshman Quinton Baird, and Freshman Noah Floyd.

Congratulations to Colerain High School students Matthew Laskey, 1st place in Principles of Business and Nathan Lorenz, 3rd place in Principles of Marketing.  3 additional Colerain High School students qualified for the state competition.  They are Elizabeth Murray, Austin Wolfe, and Madison Conrad.

 DECA’s mission statement is preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs to be college and career ready.
