Carlos Boyd Elected State President of BPA

Posted on: November 30, 2016

On November 29, 2016, the State Business Professionals of America organization held its Fall Leadership Conference in Columbus, Ohio and voted on their state officers.  Colerain and Northwest High Schools were very well represented.  12 finalists were chosen for the State Officer Positions, 4 were from our Northwest/Butler Tech programs. 3 of 6 officers on the state leadership team are from our Butler Tech programs.

Business teacher Mr. Peter Clark prepared his students for their state campaigns and we are proud to announce that Carlos Boyd (Northwest High School Senior) was elected as the new BPA State President! He will be providing leadership for the 8,500 members in Ohio BPA and will do a great job in this role! Northwest High School student Jason Hentz did not receive a position on the State Officer Team, as a top 12 finalist he will be pursuing a run for National Officer in the spring. Congratulations to both Northwest High School students.

In addition, Northwest High School 2016 alum, Joshua Harper, displayed his leadership in helping to run the event as the outgoing BPA State Treasurer. Josh came up from North Carolina A & T where he is attending college, to perform his final duties as a State Officer.   Congratulations to all!
