Dear NWLSD Staff and Families,
Recently Governor DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health announced the lifting of the statewide mask wear mandate for fully vaccinated individuals. This, along with a decrease in the number of reported COVID-19 cases over the last few weeks gives us promise that the vaccines, our efforts to socially distance, vigilant hand washing, cleaning protocols and other protective measures, are working to reduce the spread of COVID-19. It is important to remember that we must maintain consistency and model safe behavior for Ohio’s students. With limited numbers of students vaccinated, it is important that we continue these safety measures through the end of the current school year. The recent changes put in place by the Governor do not affect the existing order requiring the use of facial coverings and other health protocols in our schools. Over the weekend, Governor DeWine reaffirmed that the current K-12 Facial Covering Order remains in place at this time.
