NWLSD IS LAUNCHING AN EDUCATIONAL VISION SURVEY FOR OUR SCHOOLS
NWLSD Families and Community Members,
As we take the first steps in vision casting for our future, it’s important to not only look at our strategic plan, but our commitment to Educating Tomorrow’s Leaders Today. In 2019-2020, Northwest Local School District worked with community stakeholders to roll out our Strategic Plan. Within it, we identified our five key goal areas, as well as our mission, vision and belief statements that summarize our community’s feedback and our plan to move forward, grow and operate in the years to come.
When we began planning for our Strategic Plan, our community asked us to create continuous two-way communication in our community surrounding how our schools are funded, how funds are spent and what is needed to provide educational services. They also asked us to partner with the community to develop a transparent funding cycle. This is our attempt to honor our stakeholder's requests.
The Educational Vision Survey will address 21st Century Learning expectations and the expectations surrounding learning environments, which will directly affect our district’s master facilities plan and possibly our future levy cycles. This process will involve multiple surveys throughout the course of the next few months.
As we carry this out, we do so with the understanding that we are preparing our students to be future leaders. Doing that requires foresight, preparation and collaboration with all of our district stakeholders.
The steps that NWLSD is taking directly align with the feedback that our community shared and is represented in the Strategic Plan. Our goal is to understand what our stakeholders envision and desire as well as what plans our community is willing to financially support. The survey will close on May 30, 2021
