Parent Support Group For Remote Learning Families

Northwest Local School District is partnering with Best Point to offer a parental support group for parents of students currently participating in full-time remote learning.  This small group of parents will meet weekly to discuss challenges and strategies for supporting remote learners and parenting school-aged students in general.

PARENT SUPPORT GROUP SIGN UP FORM

The group will meet in-person on Wednesdays from 6-7pm or 7-8pm (family choice) at Houston Conference Center (3310 Compton Road) starting the week of March 3.

Using the Teaching-Family Model, an evidence-based skill building model, the parenting group is designed to help all parents handle common issues that arise with children, such as challenges when asking them to do something and managing children’s behavior when you tell them no.  Parenting doesn’t come with a handbook, this group will provide guiding principles and helpful techniques on how to help children build skills and manage misbehavior.

This program is exclusively for parents.  We do not have available child-care at this time.

Groupings will be small, socially distanced, and participants will be required to wear masks.  All participants will be asked to self-screen prior to arrival.

Space is limited, so please register using the form below as soon as possible.

All questions can be directed to Dustin Gehring, NWLSD Student Services, at 513-923-1000 ext 3907 or [email protected].
