CMS Welcomes New Interim Principal

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 22, 2020

CINCINNATI, OH - Northwest Local School District (NWLSD) is proud to welcome Ali Moore as the new Interim Principal of Colerain Middle School. Moore comes to NWLSD highly recommended by the Hamilton County Educational Service Center.

Moore brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to NWLSD with over 15 years of experience working in education. Moore is a dynamic leader that takes pride in fostering a school environment that allows both staff members and students to thrive. He has held various teaching and administrative positions throughout his educational career. In 2011, Moore served as the principal of Daniel Wright Elementary School where he designed a meaningful, professional development model tailored to the needs of teachers that led to the highest growth throughout the Dublin City School District. In 2013, Moore served as the Assistant Principal of Davis Middle School, and in 2015, he accepted a role as the Principal of Princeton Community Middle School (PCMS). As the building principal of PCMS, Moore was instrumental in building partnerships with community organizations to bring programming to students. While there, he partnered with organizations like Proctor and Gamble, Think Tank Project,  as well as Lead the Way and the University of Cincinnati to provide students with after-school STEM opportunities. In 2018, Moore began his current role as a district administrator, working as the Director of Safety and Security for the Princeton City School District.

“I am very excited to step into the role as the new principal of Colerain Middle School,” said Moore. “I am honored that I was chosen to lead such an amazing school and community! I have heard nothing but positive things about the students, teachers and parents. I can’t wait to be a part of the Colerain traditions and help to build positive relationships with the students, staff, and community.”

Moore graduated from Albion College, in Michigan. During his time there, he obtained his bachelor’s of arts in physical education and health. He later attended Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon, Ohio, where he received his master’s of arts in education.

Like most administrators gearing up for the school year, Moore is eager to get started. He will begin his transition in July, and will assume his role as Interim Principal on August 1, at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year.

The decision was made to create an interim position due to the timing of the vacancy. Per the Ohio Revised Code, after July 10, teacher and employee contracts for the upcoming year are binding. These policies were put in place to help districts make sure they are not put in a difficult situation by an employee leaving so late and not being able to find a replacement.

“To mitigate this situation, we decided to offer a “Interim Principal” position for CMS for this year, said Todd Bowling, NWLSD Superintendent. “Ali Moore came highly recommended by the Hamilton County Educational Service Center and Princeton City Schools. Ali sat down with an interview team that consisted of David Meadows, Darrell Yater, Brenda Miller, Dustin Gehring, and myself. We felt it was important for Mr. Meadows to be a part of the process. After conducting the interview the entire interview team felt very strongly about moving forward with Mr. Moore as the new interim principal of CMS. In the spring, NWLSD will open up the position and allow the appropriate amount of time to gather a diverse pool of candidates, both internally and externally.”
