Dear White Oak Middle School Students and Families,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the recently appointed Principal of White Oak Middle School beginning November 1, 2017 for the 2017-2018 school year.  I’ve spent this last couple month's of school getting to know the staff and many of the students here at WOMS.  I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and provide you with some information about my background.

I have been an educator for the past 20 years. Most recently, I was the principal at Monfort Heights Elementary School. Prior to that I spent 9 years in Lakota where I taught and served in a several leadership roles. Before that I taught sixth grade right here at White Oak Middle School.  I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Teacher Leadership, and post-graduate principal licensure certification all from Miami University.  I have worked on a variety of special projects including restorative practices, literacy, writing, and mathematics.  I hold an Ohio Principal License for grades K-12 as well as a teaching license for grades 1-8.

Personally, I reside in West Chester with my wife Laura and two children, Jacob (17) and Veronica (12).  I enjoy spending time with my family and my hobbies include hiking, being outdoors, and watching sports.

I am a firm believer in the importance of building strong relationships with parents, staff, community members, and students.  This is the only way we can truly collaborate with one another and do what is best for our children.  Your children have had the opportunity to meet me through classroom visits and during lunch this past month.  I will continue to get know your child while supporting their learning.

In addition to meeting the students I look forward to meeting you, our Warrior Families.  I encourage you to get involved, if you haven't already done so, by joining the PTA and supporting the many wonderful clubs/ activities that are available for students here at WOMS. Feel free to stop in and introduce yourself when you have a chance.  Also if you have specific questions or concerns that you would like to bring to my attention, please feel free to contact me. I can be reached at 513-741-4300 or kgale@nwlsd.org

I am excited to be a part of such a great school and I look forward to working together to ensure your child’s needs are met.
