From her early days of calculating mock insurance premiums at Colerain High School to becoming the principal owner of her own insurance agency, Christina Gyarmati (née Kitchen) has built a career grounded in purpose, persistence, and community. A proud graduate of the Class of 1990, Christina credits her time in the Administrative Support vocational program with shaping both her professional path and lifelong relationships.

After starting her career with State Farm through a high school co-op program, Christina’s passion for the industry took her to AAA Insurance and eventually to Heister Tasset Trimble Insurance Agency (now Safari Insurance). In July 2024, she reached a major milestone by becoming the owner of Safari Insurance, headquartered in White Oak.

“One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of is the acquisition of Safari Insurance. Taking ownership of the agency marked a significant milestone in my career,” she says.

Throughout her journey, one teacher remained a steady inspiration.

“Mrs. Holly Lammers had a lasting influence on my confidence and career direction. Her encouragement and innovative teaching approach gave me a head start in the real world,” Christina says.

When reflecting on her time in the Northwest Local School District, Christina emphasizes the value of opportunity and the power of relationships.

“The Administrative Support program gave me invaluable hands-on experience that truly prepared me for life. And the friendships I formed at White Oak and Colerain have grown into bonds that feel more like family.”

Christina now devotes her time not only to leading her agency, but also to giving back. She enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, volunteering, and participating in local initiatives to uplift others, especially the community that shaped her.

Her message for today’s students? “Fully embrace the opportunities in front of you. Take risks. Step outside your comfort zone. And never underestimate the friendships you’re forming - they can last a lifetime.”
