Students on playground equipment

April is School Library Month, and last Friday, we connected some soon-to-be graduates with the district’s youngest future readers!  Thanks to financial support from Rumpke and the Ohio Educational Foundation, students from Northwest High School’s Book Club and Spanish Honor Society visited Houston Early Learning Center to share stories and reading fun with our preschool students.  NWHS students read books on the theme of community helpers, such as Every Monday Mabel by Jashar Awan.  They even got the chance to join their new friends on the playground after storytime was over.  Thanks to HELC principal Megan Alford and NWHS staff Alundra Childs, Brittany Summers, and Bethany Miller for helping to organize this event.
