Northwest Local School District Board President Nancy Slattery has been named a recipient of the 2025 Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) Aptitude Award, one of the state’s highest honors for school board members.
Presented as part of OSBA’s STAR Awards Program—which stands for Service, Training, Aptitude and Recognition—the Aptitude Award recognizes board members who demonstrate exceptional dedication, leadership, and ongoing professional development in public education.
Of more than 3,400 board members statewide, only 55 will receive this distinction in 2025. OSBA commended Mrs. Slattery for her “true commitment toward public education and the importance [she] attaches to [her] role as a school board member.” She was formally recognized at OSBA’s Southwest Regional Fall Conference later this year.
