Through a grant from the State of Ohio and the Department of Children & Youth, Montfort Heights, Struble, & Taylor Elementary are able to offer a Kindergarten Bootcamp this summer to some of our incoming students who meet the eligibility requirements below. The goal of this Bootcamp is to provide students an opportunity to:
Build familiarity with school routines, expectations, and learning environments.
Strengthen children’s social, emotional, and academic readiness for kindergarten.
Receive instruction grounded in the Science of Reading and aligned with Ohio’s Early
When: Monday- Thursday from June 29th- July 30th (No classes on Friday)
Time: 8:00 am -11:45 am
Who: Incoming Kindergarten students who meet the eligibility requirements (see below)
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for the program, students must have verified citizen or qualified alien status and come from families with incomes that do not exceed 200% of the federal poverty level. Exceptions are made for children who receive services on an Individualized Education Program (IEP), are in foster or kinship care, or are experiencing homelessness.
Additional information:
Snack will be provided daily
Transportation will be provided for those that request it
Families must be on time for pick-up
Good attendance is required
Students with preschool experience can apply and will be considered if there are still openings after June 1st
