NWLSD will once again partner with Colerain Township First Responders and the Hamilton County Communications Center to conduct critical incident training aimed at strengthening school safety and emergency preparedness. The trainings will take place on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Northwest High School.

THE TRAININGS ARE NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

To create a realistic training environment, simulated gunfire using blank rounds will be used, and emergency vehicles and personnel will be on-site throughout the day. Community members should not be alarmed by their presence.

“This training is an essential part of our commitment to keeping students, staff, and our community safe," said Darrell Yater, Superintendent of Northwest Local School District.

Cinfed Credit Union unveiled their Community Art Wall at their new Colerain branch on June 26, 2024! Our Taylor Elementary, Colerain Elementary, Colerain Middle and Colerain High School students have their artwork displayed on the artwall! #NWLSDgobeyond Inspired by this year’s theme of “Reach for the Stars,” our NWLSD students painted what they imagine when they look up into the night sky. The beautiful display is a mix of dreams and aspirations, with each piece of art as unique as the person gazing at it.

Student Spotlight: “My teacher is really nice and kind. She explains things in the best way possible so we can understand it, which has helped me learn. This year, I learned how to add fractions. At first, I didn't understand at all, but once my teacher started teaching I picked it up. Math is one of my favorite classes."
