Last week, we celebrated the start of another year of Kids in School Rule! (KISR)—a collaboration with Hamilton County Job & Family Services and the Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati. KISR! ensures that education is a high priority for students in foster care and puts them on the path to academic success and high school graduation. It supports students in foster care with additional resources like incentives, enrichment, and tutoring. Nationally, only 58% of students in foster care graduate from high school. Last year, 91% of the KISR! students at NWLSD graduated! We recognized some of the KISR liaisons, counselors, and administrators that make this program a success with the KISR GOAT awards🐐: Rae Lawson, Samantha Hudson, Virginia “Ginnie” Schueler, Special Education Department, Struble Elementary team
