Hello MHE Families,

I want to draw your attention to the Erin’s Law information that Northwest Local School District shared with you on January 6th. The law requires that all public schools implement age-appropriate curriculum to educate students on personal body safety. The goal is to empower children with the knowledge and skills to recognize, resist, and report inappropriate behavior. Lessons will be delivered by our counselors beginning in February. You will be notified of the specific dates within the next few weeks by your child’s teacher. For additional information or to review the curriculum, please visit the website by clicking HERE.

We understand that discussions around child abuse can be challenging for some families. As such, we want to make it clear that participation in this program is not mandatory. If you prefer that your child does not participate in the Erin's Law curriculum using the Fight Child Abuse resource, please click HERE to access the electronic opt-out form. This form only needs to be completed if you do not want your child to participate. You can also complete and return the paper form that was sent home last week. We will be developing an alternate plan for those students who will not be participating during that instruction during that determined class time.

The entire communication can be found here. Please reach out with any questions.

Thanks,

Trey Rischmann

Dear MHE Families,

I hope this message finds you well and that your family has had a strong start to the new year.

Last week, the district shared an Attendance Survey with families, and I wanted to follow up to encourage you to complete it if you have not already done so. Your feedback helps us identify barriers, improve communication, and strengthen the support we provide to our students and families.

Please Take the Survey: https://tejoin.com/participate/890020002

Thank you for taking the time to support student success at our school!

Sincerely,
Trey Rischmann

Happy Thanksgiving
Hello MHE Families

Monfort Heights Elementary Library and PTA would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to the MHE school community! We're incredibly proud of our readers and grateful for your support in making our Read-A-Thon fundraiser a success! Our students had a wonderful time reading and there was stiff competition!

Winners will be announced at the Read with Me tomorrow morning - 11/21/2025!

Readers need to make sure to spend their RAT Bucks (Read-A-Thon fundraising points) in the prize store asap. Any RAT Bucks not spent within 10 days after our Read-A-Thon ends will no longer be available. Unfortunately, the prize store cannot be reopened once it is closed. All prizes will be shipped to the school. Certificates, pizza parties, ice cream, and rewards for minutes read will occur when we return from Thanksgiving break.

Thanks so much,
Monfort Heights Elementary Library and PTA

PTA is happy to announce that our state Reflections Competition has begun! The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boosts student confidence and success in the arts and in life. Each year, hundreds of thousands of students in pre-K through grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-created theme. In Reflections, students submit artworks in the available arts category areas and program divisions. The theme this year is “I Belong”. You can pick up entry forms in the office or download one HERE. Here is a flyer giving more information about each category! These materials will also be available on the PTA Facebook page. If your student needs info or if you are new to the program, please have them talk with their teachers in their desired category so they can further explain the competition with them (ie: art category contact Ms. Goff, music Mr. Kinne, and Writing would be their English Language Arts teacher).

Any questions contact PTA at pta4mhe@gmail.com

Deadline for submissions is December 1, 2025 so we can assess all submissions.
