Exciting things are happening in Northwest Local School Cafeterias! Children need healthy meals to learn and excel. All schools also participate in a Fruit & Vegetable delivery program allowing for greater variety and fresh, new options. Our delicious meals incorporate whole grains, low fat dairy and low sodium products at an affordable price. Check out our menus! Elementary Lunch is priced at $2.60 and Middle School and High School lunch prices start at $2.85. Don't forget our convenient and affordable Breakfast served daily for $1.50. Free or Reduced prices apply to those who qualify. Our snack options are nutritious as well! All snack options meet the Alliance for Healthier Generation guidelines. Only snacks meeting certain criteria are offered in our district
Free and Reduced Price Meals
Northwest Local Schools Food Service Department participates in the National School Lunch Program and the National School Breakfast Program. Through this program, free or reduced-cost meals are available to children whose families meet certain income criteria. Beginning August 21, 2023 and continuing through May 23, 2024, all students qualifying for reduced-price meals will be receiving no-cost breakfast & no-cost lunch. If your student attends Pleasant Run Elementary, Struble Elementary, Taylor Elementary, White Oak Middle or Pleasant Run Middle School, your student will continue to receive free breakfast and lunch through May 2024; however, an application should still be completed.
Application forms can be found online at https://payschoolscentral.com/. To apply for free and reduced-price benefits, households should fill out and submit the application online. Additional copies are available in the principal’s office at each school. A copy of the application can also be found by clicking on the Free and Reduced Price Meal Application on this website. One application should be used for all children living in the same household. It is not necessary to complete an application for each child. If you are interested in applying for free or reduced price meals, please complete an online application or return a completed paper application to any Northwest Local School your child attends.
