NWLSD is Offering Drive-Thru Meals to Students on April 2, 2020.


NWLSD is proud to offer our families the opportunity to pick up a weeks’ worth of drive-thru meals for their students on Thursday, April 2nd from 11am-1pm from the following schools: Pleasant Run Elementary, Taylor Elementary, & Struble Elementary. This is open to all children age 18 and under who reside within the district area, even non-NWLSD students.

Because your health & the health of our employees is of utmost importance, we respectfully request that you remain in your vehicle during meal pickup. 


Meals will range from pre-packaged breakfast & lunch kits to granola bars, cereal, pop tarts, deli sandwiches, subs etc. All meals will include milk & fruit, fruit juice and/or a vegetable.

Exciting things are happening in Northwest Local School Cafeterias! Children need healthy meals to learn and excel. Breakfast and lunch are now available in all schools. All schools also participate in a Fruit & Vegetable delivery program allowing for greater variety and fresh, new options. Our delicious meals incorporate whole grains, low fat dairy and low sodium products at an affordable price. Check out our menus! Elementary Lunch is priced at $2.60 and Middle School and High School Lunch is priced at $2.85. Don’t forget our convenient and affordable Breakfast served daily for $1.50. Free or Reduced prices apply to those who qualify. Our snack options are nutritious as well! All snack options meet the Alliance for Healthier Generation guidelines. Only snacks meeting certain criteria are offered in our district.

Free and Reduced Price Meals
Northwest Local Schools Food Service Department participates in the National School Lunch Program and the National School Breakfast Program. Through this program, free or reduced-cost meals are available to children whose families meet certain income criteria. Application forms can be found online at https://www.lunchapplication.com/. To apply for free and reduced-price benefits, households should fill out and submit the application online. Additional copies are available at the principal’s office in each school.  A copy of the application can also be found by clicking on the Free and Reduced Price Meal Application on this website. One application should be used for all children living in the same household. It is not necessary to complete an application for each child. If you are interested in applying for free or reduced price meals, please complete an online application or return a completed paper application to any Northwest Local School your child attends.
