As you know, we will not have school, any events or practices on campus until April 14.
However, we will still be providing instruction and assignments to students for each of their courses virtually. This means that teachers will be sending assignments electronically via email or Google Classroom. The first set of assignments will be posted next week. Assignments will also be posted for the weeks of March 23 and March 30. Teachers will communicate due dates and how these assignments will be graded as well.
All teachers will hold virtual office hours from 9 a.m. - noon each day starting March 18th through April 3rd. That means teachers will be available online to discuss work and answer student questions via email. Some may also use Google Meeting or Google Hangout as a platform for communication.
This means students will need to check their SCHOOL email addresses and the Google Classroom sites daily beginning 3/18. We practiced this with students during advisory yesterday.
We know that some families have limited access to a Chromebook or device for students to complete work virtually, so administrators will be able to loan district Chromebooks to students for this purpose. We will have loaner devices in the front lobby at Northwest HS for students to check out on Wednesday, March 18 from 9 a.m. until noon. If your student will need to borrow a Chromebook, please complete this form by Tuesday at noon: https://forms.gle/NJ614JWBeg9dXvZTA
We also know that some families rely on breakfast and lunch items from the district for your student, and a plan will be communicated shortly on how we will get food items to families while we are out for this extended period.
If your student needs to pick up medication, a band/orchestra instrument or an item from his/her locker, they would need to do so prior to 3 p.m. today.
An additional reminder to parents - payment for AP exams is due by the end of March, and you can make payments online through your student's PaySchools account.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions.
