Flu Season Is Coming, Be Prepared

Influenza, commonly called the flu, is a contagious respiratory illness that usually strikes our population from November through February. The best action you can take to prevent the seasonal flu from affecting your child and others is getting your flu vaccine. The vaccine greatly reduces your risk of getting the illness.

*The seasonal flu vaccine is recommended for anyone ages 6 months and older and is required yearly for all Preschoolers enrolled in our program.  Please remember to keep your school immunization record accurate and up to date by providing documentation for any vaccines that have been given throughout the school year.

If our records indicate that your child has not had a Flu Vaccine in the last 12 months, you will receive notification in the next coming weeks. If you have any questions about required vaccines for preschool, please call the Health Office!

When your child is ill:

While prevention is the key, there may be times when your child does become ill. In order to protect the health of other students and school staff, children who are sick should not attend school.

*Students who are sick should remain home until they are fever free  for 24 hours       without the use of fever reducing medicines. Keeping your child home allows your child to rest and recover. If your child’s symptoms become severe, you should contact your child’s health care provider.

                                                                 Stay Healthy!!
