Sansone Selected as New Principal of HELC





NWLS Welcomes Gina Sansone as the New Principal of HELC

 Northwest Local School District (NWLSD) is proud to welcome Gina Sansone as the new Principal of Houston Early Learning Center (HELC). 

 
Sansone brings a wealth of knowledge to NWLSD with over 17 years of experience working in elementary education and a lengthy history in the Northwest District. From 2005 to 2017, Sansone taught kindergarten and second grade at Ann Weigel and Struble Elementary, before working at Monfort Heights Elementary as the Assistant Principal in 2019. Prior to joining the NWLSD Family, Sansone also worked in the Lakota Local School District serving as the Assistant Principal of Union Elementary and Hopewell Early Childhood School. 
“In June, with a bold leap of faith I applied for the Houston Early Learning Center Principal position and went through the interview process. After much thought and consideration I proudly accepted the role,” said Sansone. “I look forward to contributing to the amazing culture and academic success that is already established at Houston.”
Sansone, who is a graduate of Xavier University and the College of Mount St. Joseph, has received several honors and awards including “Most Effective Award” given by the Evaluation of Student Growth Measure, Educator of the Year given by the Parent Teacher Association, as well as the Ohio eTPES Formal Observation Accomplished Award.  
 
The new role will commence on August 1, at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year and Sansone is eager to get started. 
 
“I’m excited to work with the administrators and staff at Houston Early Learning Center. I know that we are all dedicated to being instructional leaders that will collaborate with students, families, and staff to raise the academic success of every student while also taking into account their social and emotional needs,” said Sansone. “We will continue to partner with our stakeholders to ensure that our students are safe, engaged in academics and become exceptional learners and citizens.”
