Northwest Local Schools Will Be Closed Thursday, February 3, 2022.
Northwest Local Schools will be closed February 3, 2022 as a result of the winter storm that is approaching the Cincinnati area. All after school and extracurricular activities will also be canceled.
(Northwest Online staff and students are expected to follow the Calamity Plan that has previously been communicated to staff and parents.)
The decision was made to close school in anticipation of possible power outages, which would impede the district’s ability to facilitate remote learning. Per the forecast, our community is expected to receive freezing rain and sleet that could potentially affect power lines and lead to power outages all over the city.
We will continue to communicate with our staff and families as the storm progresses. Please continue to look for communication via email regarding upcoming changes. We appreciate our staff and our families’ patience and understanding around this process, as we understand that cancellations due to weather are inconvenient, but are necessary to keep our staff and students safe. We ask that our families and staff take precaution during this time to ensure their safety.
