Dear Welch Families, 

Welcome back to you and your child to the 2017-2018 school year. We are excited to see the smiling faces of our returning students and welcome those students and families who are new to Welch. 

I would like to share some important information and dates with you to help the school year begin smoothly. Our school hours remain the same 8:55-3:25; once again car riders should be dropped off and picked up in the back of school, walkers and bus riders enter through the front of the building. Half-day Kindergarten hours; AM classes: 8:55 – 11:35 and PM classes 12:45 – 3:25. Half-day Kindergarten parents please follow the kindergarten teacher's directions for arrival and dismissal. We thank you in advance for following these guidelines for the safety of our precious students. 

Some important information for you and your student(s):

  • Hot lunches are $2.60, reduced lunch is $.40 and milk $.50.
  • Welch serves breakfast from 8:30-8:50. The cost of breakfast is $1.50 reduced breakfast is $.30.
  • School fees for the 2017-2018 school year are:  TBD: 
    •    Kindergarten $, First grade $, Second grade $and Third grade is $.
  • If your child is going to be absent from school please call school in the morning to report their absence. 
  • School supply list were sent home at the end of the year; if you need another copy please come to the school office or you can view the link below.

We are no longer allowing cupcakes or cakes to be brought in for birthdays or holiday parties. All treats must be store purchased and individually wrapped. 

Our very important Curriculum Night and Welcome Back evening is scheduled to take place on August 15th, 5:00-6:30. This meeting is for parents to hear their child’s teacher discuss the learning goals for their grade level, classroom expectations such as daily work, homework and behavioral expectations. There will be an activity for students and PTA registration will be held with KONA ICE.

Please help your child get off to a great start by participating in the Summer Reading Challenge; reading 20-30 minutes everyday will allow you child to return ready to excel. Ensure a successful start to this school year by providing a specific place and time for them to complete their homework. I encourage you to be involved in your child’s school this year by attending school events and conferences. Students with involved families in their school consistently achieve better as parents and teachers partner to make students successful.
