Should I retake the ACT/SAT?
Many colleges have decided to be “test optional” for the 2020 - 2021 applications. This means that you can decide whether or not you would like to submit ACT or SAT scores. You will mark on your application whether you are choosing the test optional option. Here is a quick guide for what area colleges are doing:
Cincinnati State - ACT/ SAT scores are not required. Will need to take a placement test
University of Cincinnati - Optional to submit ACT/ SAT scores for admission or scholarships, unless they are applying to the following programs: Honors College, Nursing, or Early Childhood Education Program
UC Blue Ash - Optional to submit ACT/SAT scores for admission or scholarships, but will need to take a placement test. If you wish to submit ACT/ SAT scores, you may not need to take a placement test.
Bowling Green - Optional to submit ACT/SAT scores for admission or scholarships
University of Kentucky - Optional to submit ACT/SAT scores for admission
Miami University - Optional to submit ACT/SAT scores for admissions or scholarships, unless you are applying for the Nursing program.
Miami Regionals - Optional to submit ACT/SAT scores for admissions or scholarships, unless you are applying for the Nursing program
Mount Saint Joseph - Optional to submit ACT/SAT scores for admissions, but encourage students to complete the 3 open ended questions at the end of the application, as well as submit a personal essay, resume and letter of recommendation. For scholarships, they will consider your GPA, however, if you have a high test score you could earn more money if you submit it.
Northern Kentucky University - Test scores are still REQUIRED for admissions and scholarships
NCAA - Students who initially enroll full time during the 2021-22 academic year and intend to play NCAA Division I or II athletics will NOT be required to take a standardized test to meet NCAA initial-eligibility requirements.
Ohio State - Optional to submit ACT/ SAT scores for admission or scholarships
Sinclair - ACT/ SAT scores are not required. Will need to take a placement test
Thomas More - Optional to submit ACT/ SAT scores for admissions, but may be asked to submit them at a later date after application has been reviewed. Test scores may still be used for some scholarships.
Xavier University - Optional to submit ACT/ SAT scores for admissions and merit scholarships, but may need to submit test scores for highly competitive scholarships.
Wright State - Optional to submit ACT/SAT scores for admissions and scholarships
